The 'whatever system' is great as it actually provides a sense of personalisation into your battles. Orcs are varied, especially due to the whatever system they call it where you can antagonise individual and unique orcs throughout the game. The combat is smooth as silk, better than Assassin's Creed's (which it obviously took cues from) and, in my opinion, better than Arkham's (actually killing things may be why). Talion's cloak flutters amazingly realistically while Mordor has the duality of barren wasteland in one area, and lush fields of green in the other (executing both quite well). Positives: the game looks and plays a dream. Shadow of Mordor got the first one halfway right, the third one completely right, but the second one not at all. I mean, Lord of the Rings is my favourite movie series of all time, and that's mainly because of the adventure, the overlapping but separate plots, and the sense of mystery woven throughout.
However, I became disappointed when I realised that two areas were all that the game was made up of (albeit fairly large ones).
